Von der Leyen, Trump Hold Key Talks on Geopolitics and Trade Ahead of G7 Summit

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and former U.S. President Donald Trump convened discussions addressing escalating geopolitical tensions and economic cooperation prior to the G7 Summit.

The dialogue centered on mounting Middle East conflicts, with both leaders stressing coordinated international efforts to stabilize global energy markets amid heightened volatility.

Regarding Ukraine, the talks emphasized urgent ceasefire demands and increased diplomatic pressure on Russia to resolve the prolonged conflict through negotiated settlements.
