US Government Bitcoin Reserves Unchanged at 198,000 BTC, Confirms Arkham

The United States government continues to hold a significant reserve of approximately 198,000 Bitcoin (BTC), according to on-chain intelligence firm Arkham. The analysis confirms there has been no recent movement or sales of these holdings, specifically noting no activity concerning 170,000 BTC.

Arkham Intelligence proactively addressed circulating rumors regarding potential government Bitcoin sales, emphasizing the importance of directly tracing and verifying wallet activity to dispel market misinformation regarding the status of the US holdings.

The Bitcoin held by the US government originates from asset seizures linked to criminal investigations. Historically, significant sales of government-seized Bitcoin at auction have coincided with noticeable impacts on market dynamics. The current stability indicates the government has not offloaded reserves recently.

As of the latest data, Bitcoin traded around $118,474, experiencing a minor 0.28% decline over the previous 24 hours amidst the confirmation of unchanged reserves. The broader cryptocurrency market remains robust with a total capitalization of $2.36 trillion. Bitcoin maintains its dominant position, accounting for 60.86% of the total crypto market value.

The confirmation of static US holdings acts as a stabilizing factor, alleviating near-term selling pressure concerns stemming from potential government liquidations.
