The U.S. House of Representatives will designate July 14-20, 2024 as ‘Crypto Week,’ marking a focused legislative effort to advance cryptocurrency policy frameworks. White House digital asset policy advisor Bo Hine announced the initiative via social media platform X.
During the week, lawmakers plan to prioritize two major bills: The GENIUS Act, which aims to enhance Bitcoin’s role within the national financial infrastructure, and the CLARITY Act, designed to establish a comprehensive regulatory framework for digital assets. The GENIUS Act is expected to reach former President Donald Trump’s desk for approval as part of this legislative push.
This concentrated policy effort signifies growing congressional attention toward creating defined structures for cryptocurrency integration and regulation. The proposed legislation seeks to address regulatory gaps while bolstering institutional confidence in digital asset markets.
