Strategy has launched a $4.2 billion at-the-market stock offering to fund additional Bitcoin acquisitions, reinforcing its position as the world’s largest corporate holder of the cryptocurrency. The capital raise aims to leverage Bitcoin’s long-term growth potential as part of the company’s treasury strategy.
Currently holding approximately 597,325 BTC valued at $64.4 billion, Strategy’s reserves represent nearly 3% of Bitcoin’s total circulating supply. The company recently paused its routine weekly Bitcoin purchases between June 30 and July 9, indicating potential strategic reassessment ahead of the new funding initiative.
Strategy’s existing Bitcoin portfolio has generated $22 billion in unrealized gains, highlighting significant exposure to cryptocurrency price volatility. The firm’s inclusion in major indices like the Russell Top 200 Value Index may accelerate broader institutional adoption of Bitcoin as a treasury asset.
