SHIB Community Warned of Phishing Scam Impersonating ShibaSwap Rewards

Security experts have issued a warning to Shiba Inu token holders about an active phishing scam involving fraudulent ShibaSwap reward claims circulating on social media platforms.

The scam targets SHIB, BONE, and LEASH token holders with fake rewards valued at approximately $6,500 (equivalent to 449,671,393 SHIB), promoted through a deceptive post on X (formerly Twitter). Attackers used a disguised tiny URL to obscure the malicious destination website.

No legitimate announcements regarding such rewards appear across official Shiba Inu communication channels, according to ongoing verifications. The alert was escalated by the ‘Susbarium/Shibarium Trustwatch’ watchdog account on X, which strongly advised users to confirm all announcements exclusively through verified Shiba Inu sources.

This incident underscores the escalating sophistication of threat actors within the decentralized finance space and highlights critical security vulnerabilities facing cryptocurrency users. Community members are urged to adopt heightened vigilance regarding unsolicited reward notifications.

Industry experts reiterate fundamental security protocols: users should exclusively rely on official project channels for information and transaction instructions to mitigate exposure to similar fraudulent schemes.
