SharpLink has recruited Joseph Chalom, former managing director at BlackRock, to enhance its Ethereum strategy and digital asset positioning as competition in the Ether treasury market intensifies. Chalom previously spearheaded the launch of BlackRock’s iShares Ethereum Trust (ETHA), which accumulated over $10 billion in assets. His hiring follows BitMine Immersion Technologies’ $2 billion Ether purchase, which exceeds SharpLink’s reported ETH holdings.
The strategic appointment aligns with SharpLink’s board-level plans to leverage Ethereum co-founder Joseph Lubin’s expertise. Simultaneously, BitMine has advanced its market positioning through separate board appointments targeting operational scale and institutional adoption. These parallel corporate maneuvers underscore a heightened focus on scaling Ethereum-based treasury reserves and infrastructure.
Both companies’ executive recruitment and acquisition strategies signal growing institutional confidence in Ethereum’s expanding utility and long-term valuation potential within diversified digital asset portfolios.
