SEC and NYSE Discuss Integration of Bitcoin, Ethereum into US Financial System

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) engaged in discussions with the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) regarding regulatory measures to integrate cryptocurrency assets like Bitcoin and Ethereum into the traditional U.S. financial system.

The talks specifically focused on establishing frameworks for tokenized stocks and the listing of spot Bitcoin and Ethereum exchange-traded funds (ETFs). Developing standardized criteria for the approval and listing processes of such spot crypto ETFs formed a key part of the regulatory dialogue.

Efforts underway aim to enhance settlement processes and improve overall market efficiency for crypto assets operating within established financial infrastructures.

The broader integration initiative seeks to facilitate compliant and liquid investment channels by enabling crypto assets to interact directly with the U.S. stock market under a clear regulatory framework.
