Baidu sets sight on Europe expansion with AV ride-hailing partnership with Lyft

Baidu is pushing into Europe. The Chinese tech company plans to launch its driverless taxis in the U.K. and Germany starting 2026 through a new deal with Lyft. It’s Baidu’s big move in Europe as it tries to grow its autonomous vehicle business outside China. The two companies said they want to expand to “thousands” of robotaxis across Europe in the “following years,” but they’re still waiting on regulators. The vehicles won’t hit the streets until government agencies in those countries sign off....
