InternetX has announced a collaboration with D3’s Doma Protocol to tokenize 22 million traditional internet domains, bridging legacy digital assets with Web3 blockchain networks. This initiative leverages blockchain technology to transform domain name ownership, enhancing financial utility and interoperability within the decentralized ecosystem.
Tokenized domains will enable fractional ownership, decentralized management, and maintain full compatibility with the existing Domain Name System (DNS). The Doma Protocol supports cross-chain functionality across networks including Solana, Base, and Avalanche, improving liquidity and security for decentralized applications.
Unlike blockchain-native domain projects such as Unstoppable Domains and ENS, InternetX focuses exclusively on tokenizing established domains like ‘.com’. This strategy aligns with the rapid expansion of real-world asset (RWA) tokenization, where onchain RWAs have surpassed $25 billion in value. Supportive regulatory frameworks like the CLARITY Act and GENIUS Act are expected to accelerate institutional adoption of tokenized asset solutions.
