Gavin Wood, co-founder of Polkadot, has publicly criticized the platform’s Nominated Proof-of-Stake (NPoS) consensus mechanism.
Wood stated that the current implementation of NPoS fundamentally undermines Polkadot’s overarching security model. He emphasized that the integrity and effectiveness of Polkadot’s security architecture are paramount for upholding trust across the ecosystem.
The co-founder indicated that significant modifications to the NPoS mechanism might be necessary. Such changes could potentially have repercussions for validators operating on the network and impact Polkadot’s broader operational integrity.
