Fold has partnered with payments giant Blackhawk Network to introduce Bitcoin Gift Cards across more than 400,000 U.S. retail locations. This collaboration allows consumers to purchase Bitcoin as easily as traditional gift cards, significantly reducing technical barriers to cryptocurrency adoption.
The Bitcoin Gift Cards function similarly to standard retail gift cards but enable recipients to redeem Bitcoin directly through the Fold App. This eliminates conventional onboarding hurdles such as wallet setup or exchange registration, providing a frictionless entry point for crypto newcomers.
Blackhawk Network brings its massive retail infrastructure to the partnership, supporting gift card programs for top U.S. retailers while processing billions in annual transactions. The rollout is further bolstered by Fold’s enhanced market position following its Nasdaq debut earlier this year through a successful $365 million SPAC merger.
By integrating Bitcoin gifting into everyday retail experiences, the initiative aims to accelerate mainstream cryptocurrency adoption through familiar purchasing mechanics and trusted retail channels.
