Ex-BlackRock ETF Executive Joseph Chalom Joins SharpLink as Co-CEO to Drive Ethereum Strategy

SharpLink, rebranded as an Ethereum treasury and staking company, has appointed Joseph Chalom, a former BlackRock executive, to the role of co-CEO.

Chalom brings significant digital asset experience, having played a key role in developing BlackRock’s highly successful spot Bitcoin Trust ETF (IBIT) and the planned iShares Ethereum Trust ETF, effectively bridging traditional institutional finance with cryptocurrency markets.

His leadership at SharpLink is anticipated to accelerate the company’s Ethereum-centric strategies, focusing heavily on staking operations and yield generation protocols.

The appointment follows SharpLink’s emergence as the largest corporate holder of Ethereum (ETH), surpassing even the Ethereum Foundation’s holdings. The company states its strategy aims to democratize access to Ethereum-native yields. This is achieved through publicly traded equity vehicles that leverage underlying decentralized finance (DeFi) activities.

Joe Lubin, CEO of ConsenSys and co-founder of Ethereum, publicly endorsed Chalom’s appointment. Lubin emphasized the importance of Chalom’s background for SharpLink’s mission to develop sophisticated Ethereum-native financial products.
