Emirates and cryptocurrency exchange Crypto.com have formalized a partnership to facilitate cryptocurrency payments for flight bookings and travel-related services. The agreement aligns with Dubai’s strategic vision to emerge as a leading global cryptocurrency hub and was formalized in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum.
The collaboration includes developing targeted promotional campaigns and co-innovation initiatives to drive cryptocurrency adoption within the aviation industry. Passengers will gain expanded payment flexibility through digital assets when purchasing Emirates services.
This development coincides with Dubai’s active promotion of blockchain technologies and cryptocurrency integration, highlighted by regulatory approvals including Ripple’s RLUSD stablecoin. Over 600 cryptocurrency firms now operate within the Dubai Multi Commodities Centre’s jurisdiction.
The city continues advancing digital asset infrastructure through real-world applications such as real estate tokenization, exemplified by a $3 billion RWA transaction. The Emirates-Crypto.com partnership demonstrates how traditional industries can leverage crypto payments amid supportive regulatory frameworks.
