Dormant Bitcoin Whale Holding 4,000 BTC Awakens After 14.5 Years

A long-inactive Bitcoin wallet containing 4,000 BTC has resurfaced after lying dormant for over 14 years.

On-chain data confirmed the reactivation of this early Bitcoin address, whose coins were originally acquired at an average cost of approximately $0.375 per Bitcoin. This represents one of the oldest and most cost-effectively acquired large holdings observed moving in recent history.

The reactivation of such a historically significant dormant whale address, holding assets valued at several hundred million dollars at current prices, has captured significant attention within the cryptocurrency community.

While the motives behind the movement remain unclear, the activity is considered a notable event given the age of the holding and the low initial acquisition price, providing a striking illustration of Bitcoin’s value appreciation over more than a decade.
