A Bitcoin wallet containing 10,000 BTC, valued at approximately $1.09 billion, has been reactivated after lying dormant for 14 years.
The wallet, originally funded in 2011 when the cryptocurrency’s price was significantly lower, contained Bitcoin worth roughly $7,793 at the time of its creation.
The reactivation was detected and publicly reported by Whale Alert, a service specializing in tracking large-scale cryptocurrency transactions.
This event highlights Bitcoin’s remarkable long-term price appreciation, showcasing the substantial growth trajectory the cryptocurrency has experienced since 2011.
The move of such a significant amount underscores the persistent holding behavior of some early investors.
