Deutsche Bank Announces Bitcoin Custody Plans With Bitpanda and Taurus

Deutsche Bank has revealed plans to introduce a cryptocurrency custody service for Bitcoin by 2026, partnering with Austrian fintech Bitpanda’s technology division and Swiss digital asset specialist Taurus.

This strategic initiative forms a key element of the bank’s broader digital transformation strategy, directly addressing the complexities associated with securely safeguarding cryptocurrencies. It reflects growing institutional interest in accessing regulated crypto services.

The partnership leverages Bitpanda Exchange Technology’s white-label exchange platform, integrated with Taurus’s secure custody infrastructure. This collaboration aims to deliver comprehensive, end-to-end digital asset management solutions for clients.

Beyond custody, Deutsche Bank is exploring the development of tokenized deposit solutions utilizing layer-2 blockchain technology built atop the Ethereum network. This exploration seeks to create innovative payment solutions, aligning with developing regulatory standards in the crypto ecosystem.
