CryptoQuant CEO Declares Bitcoin Cycle Theory Obsolete Amid Institutional Market Shift

CryptoQuant CEO Ki Young Ju has declared the traditional Bitcoin cycle model obsolete, attributing its irrelevance to a fundamental market transformation from retail-driven dynamics to institutional dominance.

Ju observed that previous cycle patterns—characterized by whale accumulation phases followed by retail investor influx—no longer align with current market behavior. A key shift includes long-term Bitcoin holders (‘old whales’) retaining positions rather than distributing to retail traders, diminishing the effectiveness of conventional trading strategies.

The CEO publicly retracted his earlier prediction that Bitcoin’s bull market was concluding, acknowledging his error as Bitcoin prices surged to record highs. Ju apologized for the miscalculation, underscoring how institutional influence has disrupted historical price patterns.

This market evolution indicates Bitcoin no longer adheres to its established four-year cycle, necessitating updated analytical approaches to comprehend institutional-driven price movements effectively.
