Ripple Launches $200,000 Grant Program for XRPL Startups in Japan with JETRO Support

Ripple has unveiled a $200,000 grant initiative to support early-stage blockchain projects building on the XRP Ledger (XRPL) in Japan. The program specifically targets innovation in decentralized finance (DeFi), tokenization, and digital payments ecosystems.

The initiative receives institutional backing from the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), a government-affiliated entity that promotes international trade and investment. This partnership lends significant credibility to the program and signals growing institutional interest in blockchain adoption within Japan.

Selected startups will gain financial support alongside mentorship resources, aiming to stimulate practical applications of blockchain technology. The collaboration involves local institutions including Web3 Salon to ensure regulatory compliance and foster a conducive environment for development.

Ripple anticipates the program will enhance XRP token utility by driving demand through new DeFi protocols and tokenization frameworks. This strategic move aims to accelerate Japan’s digital economy growth by promoting financial inclusion and advancing blockchain-based solutions.
