PancakeSwap Integrates Across Protocol for One-Click Cross-Chain Swaps, Boosting DeFi Security

PancakeSwap has launched one-click cross-chain swaps powered by Across Protocol, eliminating the need for traditional blockchain bridges and enhancing security across decentralized finance networks. The integration addresses vulnerabilities exposed by past bridge exploits like the Ronin Bridge hack by removing asset locking in smart contracts.

Utilizing intent-based transfers, users now specify desired swap outcomes while decentralized relayers execute transactions efficiently. This approach minimizes exposure to exploits by avoiding custodial risks associated with conventional bridges. Chef Kids, PancakeSwap’s head chef, emphasized that intent-based systems significantly reduce attack vectors by not locking assets in contracts.

The technology is poised to accelerate institutional DeFi adoption by lowering operational complexity and mitigating smart contract risks. Its streamlined process reduces barriers for traditional finance participants seeking exposure to decentralized ecosystems.

Other protocols are advancing similar solutions, with Unichain developing the ERC-7683 cross-chain standard and 1inch enhancing its Pathfinder update for improved swap rates and transaction speeds across networks.
