The Cardano blockchain community has approved a landmark $71 million funding initiative for comprehensive network enhancements over the coming year. The allocation of 96 million ADA will support key protocol upgrades including the Ouroboros Leios consensus mechanism, Hydra layer-2 scaling solution, Mithril data synchronization tool, and Project Acropolis node modularization framework.
The milestone-based funding will be managed by oversight body Intersect, featuring transparent disbursement protocols with monthly progress tracking and quarterly budget disclosures. Following the governance decision, ADA’s market value surged over 8%, reversing a sustained multi-week downtrend.
These infrastructure developments aim to significantly improve network throughput, streamline developer onboarding, and strengthen cross-chain interoperability across the Cardano ecosystem. The upgrades collectively address critical growth barriers while positioning the blockchain for broader adoption and performance optimization.
