BNB Chain Unveils Aggressive Roadmap Focused on High Performance, Native Privacy, and Mass Adoption

BNB Chain has outlined a detailed development roadmap for 2025-2026 prioritizing significant performance boosts, the introduction of native privacy features, and bolstering network scalability. The plan aims to achieve ultra-high throughput of 20,000 transactions per second (TPS) with sub-150 millisecond transaction finality while targeting support for over 200 million users.

The network has already demonstrated strong foundational performance, decreasing block production time to 0.75 seconds and transaction finality to just 1.875 seconds. This efficiency is reflected in an average gas fee of approximately $0.01.

Recent metrics showcase robust adoption and network health. BNB Chain has processed over 12.4 million transactions, underpinning an average daily volume of $9.3 billion. Additionally, a reported 95% reduction in Miner Extractable Value (MEV) activity marks a notable improvement in transactional fairness.

Key technical advancements are scheduled to drive future gains. These include the development of a new Rust-based client and the implementation of ‘super instructions’ designed to optimize complex computational workflows. This combined approach targets the aggressive goal of 20,000 TPS with lightning-fast finality.

Looking ahead to 2026, embedding native privacy capabilities directly into the core protocol is a priority. This feature aims to enhance user and transaction confidentiality within the BNB Chain ecosystem, a crucial step towards its ambition of serving more than 200 million users.
