Binance Co-founder CZ Denies Bloomberg’s Trump Stablecoin Allegations, Threatens Legal Action

Binance co-founder Changpeng Zhao (CZ) has issued a public denial of Bloomberg’s report linking him to a proposed Donald Trump-affiliated USD1 stablecoin.

CZ specifically refuted claims of his involvement with World Liberty Financial’s USD1 token project and dismissed allegations of seeking presidential pardons related to Binance transactions. In a social media statement, CZ characterized the Bloomberg report as containing ‘factual errors’ and hinted at potential legal retaliation against the publication.

The controversy develops amid heightened regulatory scrutiny of cryptocurrency ventures associated with political figures and evolving stablecoin legislation in Washington. Members of Congress are currently advancing proposals like the GENIUS Act, which would establish formal oversight frameworks for payment stablecoins.

This marks CZ’s latest confrontation with major financial media outlets, following similar disputes with the Wall Street Journal over previous reporting. The Binance co-founder maintains an active public presence addressing press coverage impacting his reputation.
