Blockchain analytics firm Arkham Intelligence has disclosed a significant historical breach involving the Chinese mining pool Lubian.
According to Arkham’s investigation, Lubian was the victim of a major hack in the year 2020. The attackers successfully stole a substantial quantity of Bitcoin from the mining pool’s reserves.
The theft resulted in the loss of precisely 127,426 BTC. Arkham’s report reveals that these stolen funds have never been moved or spent since the theft occurred nearly five years ago.
These Bitcoin holdings remain entirely on the blockchain, identifiable through their unique transaction history but untouched by the perpetrators following the hack.
