Ancient Bitcoin Whale Moves $1.22 Billion BTC After 14 Years of Dormancy

A dormant Bitcoin whale from the cryptocurrency’s earliest days transferred 10,009 BTC worth approximately $1.22 billion following over 14 years of inactivity. The transaction occurred within a narrow 30-minute timeframe, reactivating one of Bitcoin’s most closely watched historical addresses.

The originating wallet initially held nearly 80,000 BTC in its early history, positioning it among Bitcoin’s largest known holdings. Blockchain monitoring services confirm this movement represents the first major activity since the wallet’s creation during Bitcoin’s formative period.

The high-value transfer drew immediate detection by cryptocurrency tracking entity @EmberCN, spotlighting renewed activity from longstanding Bitcoin holders. Such rare movements typically garner intense market scrutiny given the historical significance and scale involved.
