Analyst Cites SEC Push for Universal Crypto ETF Listing Standards as Potential Market Expander

Senior ETF analyst Eric Balchunas of Bloomberg has highlighted a significant initiative by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) aimed at establishing universal listing standards for cryptocurrency exchange-traded funds (ETFs).

Balchunas noted that the SEC’s initiative specifically involves crafting uniform listing criteria applicable across crypto-tracking ETFs.

He indicated that these potential standards could pave the way for a broader range of cryptocurrency ETFs beyond the current offerings.

According to Balchunas, approximately 95% of major digital assets possess characteristics that could fit within these ETF frameworks under the envisaged criteria.
