Boerse Stuttgart Digital Custody becomes Germany’s first fully licensed crypto asset service provider under the EU’s MiCA framework just two weeks after coming into full effect in Europe.
The partnership will bring cryptocurrency trading and custody solutions to around 700 cooperative banks, with an initial rollout planned for late 2024.
The first banks will be connected this year, with a phased roll out for selected retail customers.
Traditional finance institutions are increasingly exploring ways of putting assets like bonds, credit and funds on blockchain rails, known as RWA tokenization, to pursue operational benefits.
